It was another time, an age ago.
Now I wonder where we are
when we lie together late in this supernal night.
Beside me in graceful repose,
there is an air of the numinous
in the light on your skin.
Our world is reeling through a wind shaped nimbus.
From beginning to end we know nothing beyond
the ecstasy and the dread.
Outside the engines, denizens and fauna hum –
a country
for children.

very nice piece…great use of language in it…makes me think of those we knew when we were young…and perhaps one of them carrying forward into our adult life…and thinking on how far we have travelled together…from then until now….

This is nicely written, with details of light and partnership in life…I’m left with a feeling of discovery and newness but with a trusted other soul.

Enjoyed this poem to me it spoke of change in life and wondering where
the people from our childhood have gone, what have they become, what
have I become..or greater yet..who am I..

Our world is reeling through a wind shaped nimbus…love the images you use… they create a dreamlike atmosphere… a travel for the mind to days that were before and what we managed to save into the now..

Love the use of contrasts in this poem. Dark and light – childhood and age. Some sparkling darkness in those images.

You use strong contrasts to highlight the change from young to old, from childhood to adulthood, from peace to fear – and you use them well. Tony

Strong contrasts in this piece. The aura of it in the mist that is both dark and light.

I love the sense of journey in this – both looking back and looking forwards.

I’m loving the contrasts in this piece, and the almost haunting-like, (but not really) atmosphere created, an added dimensions to the contrasts perhaps? Or I could be seeing more than there is…

Thank you for reading and commenting. I was trying to create an atmosphere, not exactly haunting, but dreamlike.

This is lovely and lilting… my favorite line: “Our world is reeling through a wind shaped nimbus.” That is just fabulous.
